Permanent TransformationEdit

I am not sure how the giant fish affect the pet's physical state. It says permanent, but then it seems you can transform it back. This is really not permanent. Further, all discussion of it is confusing. Some people say you can only use the dog or catfish to turn it back into a standard pet, some people say feeding it any fish will reset it. The page here says feeding it twice will make the transformation permanent. Does that mean if I feed my pet a giant muckfish, I can feed it any other fish I want as long as I only feed it once and wait for it to turn back into the muckfish? Does that mean I can feed it a jelly, and then later feed it a tunnel shark with no damage to the "permanent" state? I don't want to screw up my hard caught fish so I'm hoping someone here can put a more definitive explanaiton on this process. King Mango (talk) 07:09, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

Well since this poor wiki doesn't have very much going on, I decided to experiment. I turned my cat into a Goblinhound with a Giant fish, then turned the pet into a Tunneler with a giant fish. Both lasted several hours of gameplay. However, I wanted to see if the "permanent" transformations made the pet behave as if it was that type of creature from the beginning with a temporary fish and so I gave it a pocketfish (I still needed the achivement and to guard against 100 per cent disappointment) well it turned back into a cat after the pocket wore off. This use of the word permanent by Runic is an avoidable confusion. However, I am using the transmute fish mod so if anyone knows if this is what happens with vanilla fish please let me know so the page can be worded more clearly.
