Norsk Leiren is a small dungeon with a fixed layout that appears in Frosted Hills. It is a rare dungeon, and does not always get generated. The area pays tribute to the 1982 film The Thing, featuring a Netherim creature as well as the block of ice that was dug out and brought back to camp.
Other references to the film include a dead Estherian sitting in front of a book titled Blair's diary (Blair being a character from the film) and a key that lets you into the kennels where you will have to kill a transfigured wolf. A weapon called MacReady's Shotgun also appears here, named after Kurt Russell's character in the film. The name Norsk Leiren translates to "Norwegian Camp" in Norwegian, which is a reference to the site of the creature's first attack in the film.
